Pickup Soccer YOUTH OUTREACH's Mission
Pickup Soccer YOUTH OUTREACH, Inc. is a non-profit youth recreational athletic organization located in the Manhattan Borough of New York City which conducts charitable community outreach programs and activities to benefit under-served youth under the age of 19 who reside in the local community and are from low-income economic backgrounds. To further its mission, the Organization also offers programs co-produced through partnerships in collaboration with other organizations. The annual Kids Classic/Free Play is a free summer program which serves 8-11 year-old underserved youth from New York City's five boroughs who are both economically-disadvantaged and have faced a major hardship, trauma, life-threatening illness, or bereavement in their young life to recognize the resilience of these community members. The Kids Classic/Free Play aims to build positive interaction, teamwork, friendship and camaraderie while improving soccer skills in a positive setting of peers, mentors and coaches.

Pickup Soccer YOUTH OUTREACH's History
Pickup Soccer YOUTH OUTREACH held its 1st-annual youth soccer clinic, the Pickup Soccer?s Annual Kids Classic/Free Play, in Manhattan in Summer 2009. Many of the Program's coaches and volunteers are part of the greater Pickup Soccer Community (www.pickupsoccer.org). Pickup Soccer NYC (PSNYC) is a division of Pickup Soccer INTERNATIONAL, Inc., a non-profit recreational sports organization founded in NYC in 2006 whose mission is to build a friendly and peaceful environment in which all persons can play together for fun regardless of age, background or playing ability to build positive exchange, teamwork and camaraderie via non-competitive play. Pickup Soccer holds organized soccer games year-round for adults age 18 years and older and strives to create an environment of camaraderie, equality, good will, volunteerism, and fellowship among its players. Summer 2014 is the first repeat offering of the Kids Classic/Free Play to the Community. By Summer 2014 Pickup Soccer YOUTH OUTREACH hopes to operate in two locations offering the Program free-of-charge serving over 100 under-served youth from across the five boroughs each year. Over the next several years, the Organization is working to make its programs available on a national and international scope, building a global network of youth communities around Pickup Soccer?s model of the sport.
